L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter’s Conan of Aquilonia

L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter’s 1978 Conan of Aquilonia is the first of the non-Robert E. Howard Conan books that I've sampled. depending on how you look at it it’s either a collection of linked short stories or it’s an episodic novel.

This is a much older Conan, nearing sixty but still a formidable warrior.

It’s entertaining enough and it's perfectly decent second-tier sword & sorcery with lots of action and creepiness. But it’s just not Robert E. Howard and this Conan is not quite the real Conan.

Here's the link to my review.
